Easy DIY Chalk Sidewalk Paint
Easy 2-Ingredient paint for use sidewalks and creative play. TIP: Use just 1 drop of food coloring. If you over-do the food coloring you could possible stain surfaces. A small amount will simply wash off with water!
Ingredients
- Cornstarch
- Water
- Liquid Food Coloring
Instructions
- Mix equal parts cornstarch and water and whisk smooth. Divide mixture into cups or a muffin tin. Use a small drop of food coloring to color the individual containers and then use paint brushes, sponges, or foam brushes to paint onto sidewalks.

This was very watery. Kids didn’t have much fun using it.
DO NOT ADD ALOT OF FOOD COLORING WILL STAIN DRIVEWAY (aka dont let your kids make this by themselves) 😭
needs more cornstarch because it looks really watery but otherwise good idea. used this to refill one of those sponge roller bottles
Is this supposed to be extremely watery?
Yep! You’re welcome to adjust add add a little more cornstarch if you’d prefer it a bit thicker.
Does it wash off?
yes, mine washed off just fine!
How do you store the extra chalk paint you don’t use
I usually just toss it if we have some leftover, but you could probably store it in an air tight container.
