Or rather, Happy Thanksgiving week– since it’s Monday 🙂 Kate is off vacationing, and I’m at home with my kids out of school all week, so we thought we’d leave you with a few of our favorite Thanksgiving dishes today since everyone seems to be in planning mode already.
I’m going to skip all the fancy descriptions and just show you pictures of the things that usually show up on my holiday table. These are my faves! No one minds if we start with dessert first, right? I didn’t think so.
Pumpkin Cheesecake with Pecan-Gingersnap Crust

Layered Pumpkin Pie Toffee Cheesecake

Roasted Garlic-Rosemary Potatoes

Bacon Wrapped Green Bean Bundles

Candied Coconut Sweet Potatoes

Pear and Blue Cheese Salad with Candied Pecans

And if you’re on turkey duty this week (wanna know a little secret? I have somehow managed to avoid being on turkey duty for all 32 years of my life! True story.) Definitely check out Kate’s Turkey recipe, along with her other new recipes this year, Creamy Pear Pie and Sausage Cornbread Stuffing.

What are you all doing for Thanksgiving? You know, besides stuffing your bellies… I’m always curious to hear about other people’s traditions- in our house we always follow the big meal with a trip to the movie theater! Kate and I are going to take the rest of the week off, but we’ll be back Monday (or maybe Friday, we’ll see how the week goes 😉 ) We hope you all have a wonderful holiday surrounded by people you love. Eat lots, relax lots, and most importantly, give thanks!
And don’t forget to enter the giveaways we have going on right now on The Scoop. The Silhouette giveaway ends tomorrow (tues) and I am going to announce a winner for the ginormous Smucker’s Basket giveaway at some point today, so hurry and enter that one if you haven’t already!

Questions & Reviews
Was the winner of the Smucker’s giveaway announced? btw, I hate it when people ask such questions. I’d obviously know if it was announced and I had won. :p Either way, I’m curious. 🙂
Our family is doing something totally unique this year! It’s our last year living in NYC (we’ve been here 3 1/2) so were going to get up insanely early, bundle our kids, and go to the Macy’s day parade! After that we’re going to a Military Service Thanksgiving feast at the Lincoln Center where they have a full spread for all service members and their families (for free!). My husband is in his last year of Dental school at NYU, then will be an army dentist for the next 4 years. Totally different, but since going to family isn’t an option, we’re thinking outside the box this year. 🙂 Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your families!
Your recipes always look amazing!!
I love all of the traditional menu items for Thanksgiving, and I really enjoy
this time of year.
Thank you for all your wonderful recipes! I am a stuffing (dressing) hater and have been my whole life until Kate’s Italian Sausage Dressing. I LOVE it! I made it last year and have been dreaming of it since. I also love the cranberry sauce recipe (which also tastes great with Swedish Meatballs) and the roll recipe is to die for! Thanks for all you do!
I hope y’all have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving here is all MINE! It’s just my husband, myself, and our two teenaged boys, but we’ll do it up right with all the traditional food. I’m sure we’ll have leftovers for a week! Who doesn’t just love pumpkin or apple pie for breakfast?! As far as traditions, we do the movie theatre thing too; I just hope there are some good movies out.
Happy Thanksgiving to you ladies, and so glad to hear you will be enjoying your week 🙂 A BIG thanks to both of you for all you do to help me create dinner every week … day-in-day-out! You will forever be on my thankful list … for helping me learn how to navigate the kitchen!!
This year I was put in charge of stuffing and then everyone brings a dessert. So I will be making the layered toffee cheesecake from last week along with the stuffing you posted last week! Yum! Our tradition is to crack out the Christmas tree and decorations when we get home from the in-laws house! By Friday evening it will be full-on Christmas!!!
Happy Thanksgiving!
This will be my first turkey ever so I hope with Kate’s helpful tricks it will all work out. We go bowling before the meal each year. It was a tradition we learned from an aunt and uncle and we love it. Most people don’t think of bowling but everywhere we have lived the bowling ally is open.
I LOVE the green bean bundles, they are at every holiday dinner now! You can’t go wrong with bacon!
Aloha! I’m not a huge fan of turkey or ham so since my husband and I are celebrating our first Thanksgiving together (last year he was deployed), we decided it is okay to be nontraditional. We are starting our own traditions with cranberry gnocchi, your bacon-wrapped green bean bundles, mashed potatoes with pumpkin gravy and….the weird one- honey beef skewers. We are blessed that we can BBQ in 80 degree whether all year so we will take advantage of it! Happy Thanksgiving!
